SimTerra Structure

Greetings Newcomer!

So you've heard about SimTerra from someone...or perhaps you found it on the web...either way you are here now! So once again welcome.

Many people are interested in SimTerra but have no idea what is going on and so they hold themselves back. That's Ok.

We do have other options though. If you wish to just come and watch for a short while during an event to see what it' all about, just contact the SimTerra Game Staff at simterra@googlegroups.com. When you arrive we can give you a White Head Band, which will symbolize that you are out of character (this means you do not exhist to the PC's. They will not interact with you and will ignore you. If you have questions you can find another Out Of Character Game Staff, and they will be happy to answer your questions, comments or concerns). All you have to do is let us know that you are coming in advance and what time you plan to show up! (Please do not bring any children under the age of 16, our game has a great deal of Fantasy Violence)

Also we have the option to play a Cryogen. Since we have a post-apocolyptic world set in the age of 2,6XX CE, we can allow this to happen! Basicly, we take You(as you are...or you can pick another name for yourself...whichever), give you a sword, axe or something to defend yourself, Teach you the bare basics of the game(rules and fighting) and then throw you into the game! We have had many people like this and they have enjoyed themselves greatly! However, to really get a feel for the characters of the game, you can also play one of our six primary races/cultures. Just read up on them here!

So if you are interested, but you are unsure because you don't know what you want to play...you think it could be fun but it's awkward to start new things...or you just wanna check it out first before committing yourself to a Saturday at SimTerra, Just come and watch! We would love to have you.

Thanks and take care!

SimTerra is a live action role playing game, or LARP. We are located in Dale City, Virginia, which is where we gather to do check in for the game, and we play in Prince William Forest Park once every two months. SimTerra staff can be reached at simterra@googlegroups.com, and all emails will be answered within 1 week of the next posted event, but because this is a past time and not a full time occupation for the staff, please be advised that it can take time to get a response. The players of SimTerra are also extremely active and knowledgeable, so they can and will often answer any questions you may have.

The SimTerra Code of Conduct and Safety Code can be found HERE.

Anyone who plays SimTerra needs to fill out a WAIVER which essentially says that you know that SimTerra is a rough game, and you might get hurt, and it's not our fault. The link will take you to a version that can be printed out.

Anyone over the age of 16 but under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian fill out these PERMISSION FORMS, and must be sponsered by someone who is already playing SimTerra. If you do not know anyone who plays SimTerra, then please contact one of the staff to explain your situation, and we will see what we can do for you.
