Cutting excess incants short

Postby JoelAdams » Fri Feb 10, 2012 3:50 am

This just occurred to me earlier today, I think it's a bit of a hedge question and largely unimportant, but I find it a tad curious and so would like to see if I can grab a quick answer.

During excess I/Gs for a spell, (i.e. A tier one caster casting a tier one spell going into a 4th i/g with no metamagics) is it possible to cast the spell midway through the incant (throwing the packet on tarnek or emna instead of glenekt)? Is the situation any different for a wizard (going into an early 'draw spell')?
You are seemingly an endless font of malcontent ... you can quote me on that.

No. When casting a spell you look at the last completed incant(s). So if you've already done 3, congrats you have 3 'charged up'. But if you're only at Tarnek, you're not done with that incant and interrupting it will break the rhythm and ruin the I/G. I think I see what you're saying about "but I already have enough i/g 'charged up'", but it's been too long since they've been completed to count (because you have to throw as soon as you're done with the I/G OR start a new I/G in order to keep the rhythm going).
